Navy blue cloth boards with embossed border.

BOOK CONDITION
Boards are generally worn, with some tearing round spine. Spines are faded and have some staining. Hinges a little weak but binding secure. However, printed pages and illustrations of both volumes remain clear and little marked.

Edited by Thomas Bell. Volume one is illustrated with seven engravings and a facsimile of  handwritten Greek and Latin quotations with the authors signature. Volume two has five images and a facsimile of Whites expenses accounts. Vol. I 507 pp, Vol. II 410 pp. 8vo.

SYNOPSIS
An nineteenth century two volume edition of the Rev. Gilbert Whites most detailed and poetical descriptions of the surroundings of his home village near Southampton.
