History and Services of The 78th Highlanders (Ross-shire Buffs) 1793-1881 (two volumes)
PUBLISHER
W. & A.K. Johnston, Edinburgh and London.
BINDING
Half bound, red cloth boards with leather over spine and corners. Title patch, gilt lettering and emblem. Embossed borders, patterned endpapers.
BOOK CONDITION
The first volume is in generally worn condition commensurate with age. However, the front board of volume two is damaged, with water staining and a large part of the spine half detached. Whilst the bindings of both are weak, they feel quite secure with no loose leaves. There is some browning and mostly light foxing, but the text and images do remain largely clear and mostly little marked. Tissue guards remain intact and again are only lightly marked. Fold out map is intact, with a few creases and minor tears at edge. Previous owner's bookplate and name in ink. A few small annotations and sketches in pencil and ink.
DUST JACKET
No. We have wrapped a strip of cellophane around vol. 2 to prevent it becoming further damaged.
EDITION
1901, limited subscriber's edition.
DESCRIPTION
