Red boards with gilt lettering and design. Gilt block edges.
BOOK CONDITION
Boards are generally worn and darkened, with scuffing and bumping to corners. Hinges a little weak but binding feels secure. Printed pages and illustrations are a little browned and marked, but remain clearly readable. Tissue guard to frontispiece is partially detached and browned. Fold out map of the Isle of Wight remains intact. Faded ink inscription.

Also various tables of railway accounts, census details, fares etc. The Isle of Wight section at the back of the volume has separately numbered pages and a fold out map showing just the original Ryde to Ventnor railway line existing at the time. Over 70 pages of period advertisements at the end.
