Quarter bound in contrasting green cloth boards. Gilt lettering and border.
BOOK CONDITION
Boards are worn and stained. Scuffing and fraying, especially to edges and corners. Top of spine is torn away for about 1cm, and in poor condition. There are various marks and stains, including a white splash mark on the front cover. Generally discoloured. Binding is weak but feels reasonably secure, no loose leaves. Browning and foxing throughout affecting printed pages. The photographic plates do remain mostly clear and little marked, however.

A history commissioned by John Morgan Richards, the American owner of Steephill Castle at the time. Includes details of the architectural design, gardens and previous owners of the estate. Illustrated with many original monochrome photographs. This is followed by a section on places of historical and picturesque interest on the Isle of Wight generally. 64 pp plus plates.
