BOOK CONDITION
Remains in good condition for age, boards are have general wear, especially to spine. Binding secure, and has previously been repaired with riband over the hinges. Gilt is still bright on front cover and block edges. Some foxing and browning to outer leaves, images are a little affected although printed pages largely clear.

A handsome historical volume of Isle of Wight History. With additional geological observations by Thomas Webster which include the coast of Dorset. Illustrated with fifty maps and engravings on plates by W. and G. Cooke, taken from drawings by the authors. These are grouped together at the end of the volume. A few are coloured. Three fold out maps, all intact, with one showing coloured geological strata. 238 pp, plus 27 pages of explanations of the plates, and the plates themselves. Large Folio volume 27 x 35cm.
