Boards are worn, with some splashing and other marks. Gilt lettering on spine very faded. Hinges are quite weak, with a slight split by frontispiece. Otherwise binding feels secure. Some foxing / browning to block edges. Printed pages, images and maps remain largely clear and little marked. Fold out maps are intact. Produced to war economy standards.
